Overhead transparencies mounted on acetate and plexi

A sculptural work that draws on the idea of the animated artist book. Die Cut plexiglass and clusters of black lines form a ship’s wheel one might find being steered on a merchant ship, pirate ship, or slave ship. Overhead transparencies containing the black lines of animated film stills and drawings merge with the cross hatchings of 18 century newspaper etchings and 1930s political cartoons along eight layers.
