Osh-Tisch (1854 -1929) "Finds Them and Kills Them" was a Crow badé— an assigned-male-at-birth woman in a Crow community who takes part in some of the social and ceremonial roles usually filled by women in that culture. The Crow considered badés valuable members of their community. Osh-Tisch was esteemed not only for her amazing sewing skills, which earned her the right to make the Crow Chief Iron Bull's buffalo skin lodge; she was also known for her ferocity in battle. Her warrior strength demonstrated in the 1876 Battle of the Rosebud earned her the name Osh-Tisch, meaning "finds them and kills them."
